Mission
unilegion
united legal action
unilegion organizes class actions for victims of competition law infringements across the EU. We take action when European businesses are harmed by their suppliers’ anticompetitive conduct, such as price cartels or abuse of a dominant market position.
Although it is well established that victims of competition law infringements can claim damages from the infringer under EU and national laws, many are reluctant to pursue such claims due to the high costs and considerable effort involved in preparing for and conducting often years-long court proceedings.
unilegion addresses this challenge by offering victims the opportunity to participate in fully financed class actions, eliminating financial risk and minimizing their personal effort. We manage the entire process—from collecting and organizing evidence, to engaging and coordinating lawyers and competition economists, to negotiating with the infringer(s) until a final court decision or settlement is reached. We work entirely on a contingency basis, meaning we only receive a commission if a recovery is achieved.
By bundling the claims of several—sometimes hundreds of—affected companies into a single class action, unilegion can dedicate substantial resources to pursuing compensation. We engage top-tier law firms and leading competition economists and ensure sufficient funding to support them throughout even the most complex and lengthy court proceedings. This collective strength significantly enhances our bargaining power vis-à-vis the infringer, enabling us to secure higher compensation for our participants than they could typically achieve on their own.
Our headquarters are in Munich, Germany, with additional offices in Madrid, Milan, and Amsterdam (unilegion Foundation). Through specialized native-speaking teams, we serve clients across the EU—particularly in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, and Greece.
